Two students at the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center threw down in a classroom on Tuesday, Feb. 21 that resulted in one being transported by an ambulance to a hospital for treatment of what were described as "minor injuries."
The School Resource Officer assigned to Stethem launched an investigation, which determined the two students had communicated over social media about fighting each other upon returning to the school after the holiday weekend.
Investigators said that the parents of the two students involved were contacted about the fight, though it is unclear why the pair chose to go after each other.
A spokesperson for the Charles County Sheriff’s Office says that “parents are urged to monitor their children’s phones and activity and talk with them about inappropriate behavior and the consequences they could face.”
